CONTAINER GARDENING

Each season we design and install custom container designs for residential and small business clients throughout Newport.

We work closely with each client so the container designs are a reflection of their personal style and preferences. The long lasting relationships we create with our clients allow for us to continually enhance the designs season after season. We take pride in our quality and excellent level of customer service.

Having relocated our business from Boston to Newport, we now only service the Newport, RI area.

If your town is nearby, please inquire and we will let you know if we can service your hometown.

THE SEASONS

Spring Containers

Typically toward the end of March and beginning of April we begin Spring plantings. We use cold hardy plants such as but not limited to pansies, primrose, pussy willow, lamium, and tulips.

Summer Containers

We begin summer plantings (weather dependent) just before or around Memorial day. The plants used in summer containers are more heat loving and tolerant plants such as dipladenia, mandevilla, succulents, and bright colored annuals.

Fall Containers

In September and October we use Chrysanthemums, ornamental cabbages, pansies, grasses, sticks, decorative gourds and pumpkins.

Winter Containers & Decor

At the end of November we begin winter decor. The containers are designed with a variety of winter greens such as magnolia, boxwood, firs, arborvitaes, junipers, and pine. We accent winter container designs with large pine cones, red berries, birch poles, warm twinkle lights, and dogwood.

Outdoor Decor

Small scale lighting, lit garlands (around columns and entry ways), window wreaths, door wreaths.

Indoor Decor

Whether you like real or faux decor we can help you decorate for the holiday season. We are happy to provide custom designs for inside your home or use the decor you already have, install it and make it more beautiful than ever.

FAQ

  • Do I need to water my winter containers?
No. The winter greens will hold up throughout the cold weather months on their own.

  • How long will winter containers/garlands/greens last?
Throughout the cold winter months. Once the temperatures begin to rise the greens will begin to brown. Some clients leave winter up until we see them in the Spring, it is all dependent on how long you want to look at winter greens!

  • Can you do winter lighting?
We will do small scale lighting bushes, garlands, tree trunks (please inquire).

*Note: This is our busiest season for residential clients and we book up very quickly. We highly recommend inquiring as early as possible to ensure we have availability or if you have a specific date you would like your decor completed.
